The Hollywood & African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards) are prestigious awards for achievements in the film and music industry, and the Honors are awards to recognize outstanding individuals whose professional careers have been marked by extraordinary personal and professional accomplishments. Honorees and winners are awarded the HAPA trophy. The HAPAwards honors Kings, Queens, diplomats, community leaders, sports figures, and celebrities. This year’s show is hosted by comedian and actor Michael Blackson. Top Honorees include His Royal Majesty Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Oluwo of Iwo Land Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, Dr. Michael Obeng, and Zodwa Mkandia, along with other Honorees.
The HAPAwards are designed to globally promote the blending cultures of Africa and the world while giving back to communities across the globe. The I Dream 4 All Foundation [501(c)3] is producing this year’s show and will donate a portion of the proceeds to Africa, the arts and culture programs in the US, and the recent hurricane victims. The celebrations will include:
- Recognition of outstanding achievements and exceptional contributions by Africans and Hollywood actors, musicians, producers, and dignitaries.
- A platform to connect Africans with the Hollywood entertainment industry while establishing cultural ties between both African and Hollywood motion pictures, television, media and music industry
- Promotion of the study of acting and music, including the development of African talents in the Hollywood entertainment field through scholarships given to upcoming actors and musicians
- Donations are to benefit the African and US underprivileged communities
